No need to ditch your healthy habits just because you’re on vacation. Below are some helpful tips to keep you on track.
Come prepared
A little bit of planning goes a long way when it comes to boosting your body’s natural ability to handle the stresses of travel. Right off the bat Sprayology TravelEase is a must have for relieving the effects of jet lag or any kind of long distance travel.
If you know your food and alcohol intake will be inconsistent while traveling, pack things that will help you stay balanced. Our favorite supplements are Sprayology Party Relief and The Beauty Chef HYDRATION Inner Beauty Boost. (a prebiotic-probiotic blend that helps maintain digestion + keep your hydration levels up.)
Also I’ve discovered that you can find almost everything in a travel size or single serve packet. To stick with my oh so important morning routines I’ve found coconut oil single serving packets (for my daily oil pulling) and my favorite mushroom coffee also comes in single serve packets, as do a lot of coffees nowadays.
Stay Active
The beauty of vacation is that movement is automatically embedded into your day. Whether it’s walking the OC boardwalk, swimming in the Caribbean Sea, or dancing at a beach bar until the wee hours of the night, your body is moving regularly throughout the day. If you find yourself lying on the beach with minimal activity, go for a walk or do some beach yoga—take advantage of the fact that you aren’t strapped to a desk and get out into the world!
Keep in mind if you’re staying at a resort they most likely offer some great group classes!
Get Your Greens
Get them wherever and whenever you can. Sneak them into your eggs or smoothie during breakfast. Are there greens on the menu at lunch or dinner? Order them. Sometimes they’ll be your full meal, other times they’ll be a side dish, but either way, don’t think twice about it. Greens help balance your body, hydrate your cells, and keep you running at optimal performance.
The Beauty Chef CLEANSE Inner Beauty Powder is also a perfect way to get your greens + keep your digestive system balanced.
Skincare To Go
Now sometimes my skincare routine at home can get a little out of hand… “wait did I just layer 3 different serums on my face?” (Hey I’m a skincare professional – I’m allowed to overdo it – it’s research)
Pair down your routine when you’re traveling to make it as easy as possible to make sure you follow your regimen daily. Find products that multitask like Red Flower’s Nature line that can be used on both face and body or Coola’s line of BB creams, tinted moisturizer’s and makeup primer’s all with SPF – moisturizer, makeup and SPF all in one!
THE pearl also has a great collection of your favorite products in travel sizes.
And finally…
Stress Less
So you’ve fallen off the proverbial wellness wagon; filled with all its antioxidants, minerals, creams, pilates etc. Instead you decided to do a running dive, face first, onto the processed food cart, margarita mix and found yourself skipping your early morning run.
So what!
Vacation is supposed to be a time to relax and rejuvenate, not make yourself crazy by counting every calorie. Don’t beat yourself up if you don’t adhere to your usual regimen. Just try to make the best choices you can and above all ENJOY YOURSELF! After all, tomorrow is a new day!
